Mma Dinare Camp
Set on the waterways of the Gomoti River, Mma Dinare Camp offers chilled-out, laid-back comfort in the Southern region of the Okavango Delta in Botswana
Mma Dinare is set on a private 27,000-hectare concession bordering the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, Mma Dinare — meaning Mother Buffalo in Setswana — and offers a truly immersive safari experience in the heart of the southern Okavango Delta. Overlooking the Gomoti River floodplains, this eco-conscious, solar-powered camp is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, where sightings of elephants, buffalo, red lechwe, lions, and African wild dogs are part of daily life.
The camp features nine spacious canvas suites and one family unit, each elevated and designed to maximize views of the surrounding floodplains. Guests enjoy private decks, outdoor showers, and thoughtfully appointed interiors, including lounge areas, ceiling fans, writing desks, and USB charging stations. Elevated walkways connect the tents through riverine forest to the main area, which includes an open-air lounge, dining space, swimming pool, safari shop, and a firepit perfect for storytelling under the stars.
What sets Mma Dinare apart is its strong connection to the local Sankuyo community, who co-manage the concession. Over 60 staff members come directly from nearby villages, bringing with them generations of bush knowledge, deep cultural insight, and warm hospitality. Proceeds from the camp support local development, including water and solar projects.
With limited Wi-Fi and a strong emphasis on sustainability and authentic experiences, Mma Dinare is ideal for travellers seeking a safari that goes beyond game drives - one that connects you to the land, the wildlife, and the people who have called it home for generations.
