Lagoon Camp
Low-key safari soul by the Kwando River in The Okavango Delta, Botswana
If Botswana’s safari scene had a secret handshake, Lagoon Camp would be in on it. Quietly iconic and rich with wildlife, this low-key luxury hideout sits along the shady banks of the Kwando River, where elephants wander by and hippos grunt approval from below your deck.
Lagoon is safari with soul — equal parts hardcore predator action and riverfront serenity. Renowned for its dense concentrations of game and big-cat drama, the camp is a top destination for witnessing legendary gatherings of elephants and buffalo, often in herds over a thousand strong. Naturally, where prey gathers, predators follow — and Lagoon has become known for its thrilling lion and wild dog encounters.
Established in the late 1990s, Lagoon was one of the original camps in this pristine, predator-rich wilderness. The terrain shifts from woodlands to seasonal floodplains and secret oxbow lakes, perfect for game drives, walking safaris, and laid-back double-decker boat cruises.
The eight spacious tented suites and one family suite are built for comfort and immersion: private decks, indoor tubs, outdoor showers, and enough space to stretch out with a G&T as the wildlife soundtrack hums around you.
